Athletic Field Service Technician

Location: Haubstadt, IN

Job Type: Service Manager – Full-Time

Salary Range: $50,000.00 to $55,000.00

Basic Function: Focus on renovating, restoring, and improving athletic fields for schools, municipalities, and private sports facilities. Performs duties associated with Athletic Field Maintenance as listed below but not limited to:

  • Fertilizer, herbicide applications

  • Aeration, topdressing, seeding, sodding

  • Field grading,

  • Irrigation installation and repair

  • Mower maintenance and reel grinding

Essential Functions:

  • Perform athletic field renovations including grading, resodding, overseeding, aeration, topdressing, and soil amendments.

  • Repair worn or damaged turf and address drainage, compaction, or grading issues.

  • Operate and maintain renovation equipment, including aerators, topdressers, seeders, and sod cutters.

  • Inspect and maintain irrigation and drainage systems, ensuring optimal water management.

  • Apply fertilizers, soil amendments, or pest-control treatments safely and accurately.

  • Collaborate with project supervisors, clients, and other field staff to execute renovation projects on schedule.

  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, including materials used, field conditions, and project progress.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards at all times.

Required Skills and Education:

  • Proven experience in athletic field renovation or turf management.

  • Knowledge of turfgrass science, soil management, irrigation, and drainage systems.

  • Proficiency in operating field renovation machinery and general landscaping equipment.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, often performing physically demanding tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

  • Certifications in fertilizer/pesticide application or turf management are a plus.
