Blending Warehouse Associate

Basic Function: Direct involvement in the manufacturing and packaging of grass seed mixtures and order preparation with a focus on both efficiency and quality. Attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety and quality standards are all necessary for success in this position.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate Blenders: Use various blenders and equipment as part of the production line process. Follow operational procedures to ensure the safe and effective use of all assigned machinery.

  • Assembly and Production: Perform tasks related to assembling, fabricating, and processing components or finished products. Follow standardized processes to maintain consistency and quality.

  • Quality Control: Inspect raw goods and finished products for defects, flaws, and inconsistencies during the production process. Identify and address issues promptly to maintain product quality standards. Make sure all material in the warehouse is properly stored and covered when necessary. Ensure all goods are properly intact and in sellable condition.

  • Packaging and Labeling: Properly package finished products according to established guidelines. Ensure accurate labeling, proper sealing, and appropriate documentation for shipment if applicable.

  • Material Handling: Move and handle raw materials (both manually and with pallet jack/forklift), components, and finished products within the production area.  Follow proper handling procedures to prevent damage or contamination.

  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the production area clean and organized, following good manufacturing practices (GMP) and safety guidelines. Regularly clean machinery and workspaces to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment. Making sure all material is put away in its proper location as well as making sure the warehouse is clean and clear of debris and trash.

  • Inventory Management: Keep track of necessary materials needed for production by working closely with supervisors. Make sure inventory is being properly accounted for when loading/unloading customers, checking incoming/outgoing freight, and when doing production.

  • Adherence to Procedures: Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and company policies. Adhere to all regulatory requirements and quality standards relevant to the production process.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and report equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and potential hazards to supervisors. Assist in troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

  • Efficiency Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.

  • Customer Service: Assist with customers when needed with loading/unloading of material.

 Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Maryland Operator’s License.

  • 12 months of experience working in a warehouse environment preferred.

  • Forklift experience preferred.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English speaking candidates preferred.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machinery operation.

  • Attention to detail and strong quality control mindset.

  • Ability to work effectively with a team and in a solo environment.

  • Good communication skills to collaborate with supervisors.

  • Physical stamina and ability for routinely lifting 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing in and out of a vehicle and/or forklift.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety protocols.

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Job Description:

The Counter Sales Associate will be responsible for working directly with the corporate WSC Purchaser/Estimator assisting in day-to-day Activities, running inventory reports and intercompany product inventory needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, corresponding with Vendors, Branch managers, Shipping companies, and Sales Team.  Associate will also be working directly with the outside sales Team regarding product Quotes, submittals, VDOT, Product information and Vendor Data as needed.   

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in Developing Product Quotes for Outside Sales team.  

  • Understand, and be able to navigate all blueprint plans,  

  • Aid Corporate Purchaser with Vendor correspondents.

  • Provide Sales team with Submittal information when needed.

  • Assist corporate Estimator with Project Bids and Quotes 

  • Assist WSC Corporate Purchaser with gathering Freight quotes and corresponding with Freight companies

  • Provide Backup assistants to Roanoke Counter when needed.

  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner. 

  • Coordinate with Customers and Branch Managers regarding Pending Orders and Direct shipment logistics 

  • Saturday Work: Based on the schedule provided by Branch Manager, CSR will work necessary season Saturdays.

Education and Experience:

  • 2 years of direct work experience.  

  • Professional demeanor, and appearance.   

  • Willingness to Learn construction based WSC products, descriptions, and installation techniques. 

  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills. 

  • Exceptional verbal communication skills.  

  • Strong written communication skills. 

  • Self-motivated and very organized.

  • Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures. 

  • Proficient with Microsoft office; focusing on word, excel and outlook. 

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team. 

  • High level of integrity and work ethics.

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting the branch manager in total branch performance in accordance with company policy and procedures. Ensure store profitability and manage and develop warehouse accounts and inventory. Facilitate continuous improvement and personal growth while supporting company goals, missions, and vision.

 Operations Management:

  • Maintain branch security, opening and closing of branch.

  • Attend weekly branch manager's meetings.
