Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Midlothian, VA
Salary Range: $60,000 - $67,000
Basic Function:
The AR Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining all accounts receivable records and transactions. They generate and send out invoices, perform account reconciliations, and communicate with customers regarding billing issues and payments. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services. The AR Specialist is also responsible for customer collections and past due inquiries.
Essential Functions, but not limited to:
Sets payment terms, invoicing, and monitoring customer accounts to ensure timely payments
Manages and maintains all accounts receivable records and transactions
Collects revenue by reminding delinquent accounts and notifying customers of insufficient payments
Compiles reports and manages accounts receivable transactions
Monitors accounts receivable aging for problems and making customer collection calls
Reviews collection reports to ascertain status of collection and balance outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.
Audit delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectable; ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt status to account.
Review and approve adjustments to accounts.
Monitor the percentages of aged accounts.
Works with sales team on sales orders
